Interview - Anne Karine Thorbjørnsen

Anne Karine Thorbjørnsen translates into her designs a certain urbanism, where character is given to the garments through a way of approaching the details. Subtly achieved, this Autumn/Winter 2014 collection explores a unique sense of minimalism.

"How can you express the soul of your garments ?"

Anne Karine Thorbjørnsen
"I think the essence of the garments becomes visible through the process of the work. Through re-working and developing your ideas, vision and aesthetic, which I guess is the 'soul' of the work, and by channeling those experiences and views through your own thought process and doing, the essence of the work will be revealed. But again that equally depends on the wearer. And again the wearer will transform the initial essence of the garment into something of their own"

"What makes you believe in Fashion ?"

Anne Karine Thorbjørnsen
"I cannot say I do 'believe' in Fashion per se. The word Fashion has so many connotations today. Some aspects of Fashion excite me but others not so much. I'm excited by the creative journey where you take an abstract such as a feeling or a vision and manage to turn it into something tangible and substantial"
